We are looking for a consulting registered dietitian to support a Long-term care (LTC) home located in the Niagara-on-the-Lake area for 1 days per week indefinitely.

Yearly compensation range: $10,320 to $12,900

Responsibilities

The Registered Dietitian (RD) will oversee resident nutrition/hydration care, assessing and documenting status regularly. They will develop care plans for new residents and continuously evaluate and modify all care plans.

The RD provides:

  • Counseling and education
  • Monitors high-risk residents
  • Develops interventions
  • Reviews and approves seasonal menus (including therapeutic and texture-modified diets)
  • Participates in care conferences with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Coordinate quality improvement in nutrition, food services, and dining, and
  • Provide in-service education to staff

Requirements

  • Registered Dietitian, eligible for membership with the College of Dietitians of Ontario
  • Liability insurance (required)
  • Negative T.B. screening within last 6 months (required)
  • Negative vulnerable persons police check within last 6 months (required)
  • At least 2 COVID-19 vaccine doses (required)
  • Experience in long-term care setting is an asset
  • Experience with RAI MDS 2.0 and familiarity with the software PointClickCare is an asset
